What do these toxins and carcinogens have to do with our company's initiative? All of these chemicals form when a community's water supply is contaminated by discarded motor oil. And all of these chemicals damage the kidneys and liver - elevating mortality rates for both cancers and diseases of those organs.

And our initiative creates a positive and effective economic inducement for recycling used motor oil (UMO) as it elevates the value of UMO from nothing to over $30 per barrel (the price we pay).

HOW BIG IS THE PROBLEM?  HOW BIG IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

In the U.S., every year 880 million gallons of used motor oil  are dumped into the environment (the equivalent of 6 Deepwater Horizon Oil Spills).  The EPA estimates that for every gallon of used oil dumped, 1 million gallons of ground water are contaminated by that dumping  - contaminating enough potable water to fill Lake Huron each year.

American Energy’s proposed processing plants provide a solution by profitably processing the currently dumped used oil, into finished high value petroleum products.  How effective should American Energy's initiative be in reducing dumped motor oil? In the only state (CA) where cash is paid by the state for used oil ($6.40 per barrel), the recycling rate is 70% versus the 27% national rate - and American Energy will be paying more than 5 times the California price.

Additionally, our patent-pending process is environmentally friendly in unto itself, generating 70% fewer green house gases per barrel than a standard petroleum refinery and generating virtually no hydrogen sulfide in contrast also to a standard petroleum refinery.
